Medical Specialist - Twic East, South Sudan  (South Sudanese Nationals ONLY)

 

Are you an experienced and qualified Medical Specialist? Tearfund South Sudan has an exciting opportunity for a professional and qualified Medical Specialist to be based in Twic East.

The Medical Specialist will provide high-level clinical expertise, technical leadership, and capacity-building support to the County Health Department (CHD) and all supported health facilities (PHCCs, PHCUs, and possibly the County Hospital) in the assigned county (Twic East ) under the HSTP Phase II. The role is critical for ensuring the delivery of quality, essential, integrated health services, adherence to national and international clinical protocols, and strengthening the local health system.

 

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Medical Doctor (MD/MBBS) with a post-graduate residency/internship in a relevant medical specialty (e.g.surgery)
  • Additional training in Tropical Medicine, Infectious Diseases, or Public Health in emergencies
  • Minimum 5 years of post-specialisation clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a management/supervisory role within a primary healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Excellent knowledge on rules and regulations governing implementation of health projects
  • Experience working with NGOs.
  • Experience in programme management  
  • Experience working in humanitarian response.
  • Experience working in South Sudan or a similar complex, low-resource, or conflict/post-conflict setting with an international NGO

 

Skills/Abilities required:

  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. 
  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and manage multidisciplinary health teams. Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Good oral and written reporting skills in English.
  • Ability to manage staff in a consultative and supportive manner
  • Knowledge in Ms-word and Excel
  • Ability to take command of a situation and make decisions.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office, DHIS2 experience).
  • Able to drive a vehicle (with driving/riding permit).
