Project Manager-Food Security & Livelihoods  - Aweil East County, North Bar hal Gazal, South Sudan ( South Sudanese National ONLY)

 

Are you an experienced and qualified Project Manager-Food Security & Livelihoods ? Tearfund South Sudan has an exciting opportunity for a professional and qualified  Project Manager-Food Security & Livelihoods as part of our Senior Management Team.

The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Manager will assume a technical strategic role within the project responsible for the design, quality oversight and backstopping the field implementation teams.

 

  • Do you have a Bachelor's Degree qualification in the relevant sector (Food Security, Nutrition, or any Community Development field?
  • Do you have a Proven experience in leading multi sectoral project management and implementation
  • Do you have At least 3 years' experience in working within a consortium set-up and leading teams for integrated project delivery.
  • Proven experience in managing Monitoring & Evaluation in cross sector programs
  • Proven experience in Strategic planning
  • Experience in Staff development and capacity building for timely project delivery
  • Proven team management in relief environments with successful examples of local staff management.
  • Successful experience of project cycle management.
  • Proven experience of operating in insecure environment
  • South Sudanese National ONLY

  • Do you have good oral and written reporting skills in English?
  • Do you have Excellent communication, report writing skills and facilitation skills?
  • Do you have Ability to manage staff in a consultative and supportive manner?
  • Do you have Knowledge in Ms-word and Excel
  • Do you have the Ability to take command of a situation and make decisions?
  • Ability to speak Arabic?
  • Are you Committed Christian with a personal relationship with God?
  • Christian motivation in relation to injustice and serving those in need.
  • Emotionally & spiritually mature.
  • Do you have Understanding and sensitivity to cross-cultural issues?
  • Commitment to accountability to beneficiaries and transparency, showing dignity and respect, and demonstrating listening and understanding
  • Do you have Flexibility, ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and live in basic conditions.

 

Personal qualities required

 

  • Be trustworthy and responsible
  • An excellent negotiator with experience liaising with County Health Departments, State Ministry of Health, donors and Tearfund.
  • Willing to work under minimum supervision
  • Committed Christian
  • A committed and flexible team player.
  • Cross cultural understanding / sensitivity.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and ability to be flexible in demanding situations
  • Willingness to travel and operate in basic conditions.

  • People person – can present the ‘caring face' of the programme

The position is based in Aweil, South Sudan with frequent travel to our various field bases in South Sudan.
