We are seeking a solutions architect to join the team and take on the challenge of supporting the ongoing needs of the organisation in supporting the delivery and support teams to delivering new IT solutions and services aligned with the strategic solutions roadmap and overall IT architecture strategy defined for Tearfund.  

You will be joining Tearfund at a busy and exciting time. During the first 12 months (minimum), your activities will include:

  • Support of the configuration and implementation of 3rd party SaaS products into the Tearfund systems landscape;
  • Ensuring compliance with the architecture in the application and integration design;
  • Overseeing the creation of assigned programme technology design documentation, ensuring alignment against the programme functional and non-functional requirements;
  • On assigned projects, responsible for the production of detailed designs of constituent parts of the solution that will need to be built across all technology domains. This will be done in conjunction and close working with Tearfund's  technical architect, vendor technical architects, and Tearfund's in-house IT team;
  • Responsible for contributing to pricing of IT solutions, and weighing up pros and cons of different solutions;
  • Engage and work with suppliers and partners in order to define the best possible solution and the most appropriate deployment of their technology and products to align with the Tearfund global systems roadmap and IT technical infrastructure strategy;
  • Prepare and deliver formal presentations to the relevant stakeholders.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent level of knowledge) you will have proven experience working as a solution architect on bespoke and SaaS 3rd party IT projects. All applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs. The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safe-guarding issues.
